Welcome to My Spot!

Spottery is inspired by my lifelong love of cats and my enduring affinity for clay.  Clay allows me to let my heart’s desires form themselves into being. In the kiln, they mature, becoming more permanent and less vulnerable. Opening the kiln after a glaze firing is one of my favorite things in life. I am rarely patient enough to wait for it to cool off, so I peek through a peep hole, feeling like Howard Carter when he discovered Tut’s tomb. In honor of Carter and Tut, I whisper, “Wonderful things.”
